Introductions – the Founder

Hi everyone! My name is Abhi, and I’m the founder of Integrated USMLE Prep, the ultimate source for Step 2 tutoring for the New Step 2 exam. I’m currently an 8th-year MD/PhD student at Mayo Clinic, applying for residency in Anesthesiology. I graduated from Columbia University with a degree in Biomedical Engineering, where I also completed my premedical coursework. I scored a 525 on the MCAT and went on to serve three years as a Kaplan MCAT tutor, as well as three years as an online SAT/ACT tutor. During my time at Columbia, I also supported fellow students in STEM and pre-med courses like general chemistry, biology, biochemistry, and organic chemistry.

At Mayo Clinic, I’ve continued tutoring graduate-level coursework, including X-ray imaging physics, mathematics for engineers, and statistics. Beyond academics, I volunteer with the American Physician Scientist Association, where I help prospective MD/PhD students strengthen their applications and prepare for success in the program.

Yeah, yeah, but who are you outside of academics?

That’s a great question! And an important one – medical students shouldn’t let studying or clerkships detract from who they are as a person. I’ve tried to keep my hobbies going as well as I could. I love CrossFit, cooking, running, rock climbing, archery, and hanging out with my lovely girlfriend. Rochester, MN is on the smaller side, but the Twin Cities (that’s Minneapolis/St. Paul for those who aren’t in with the local lingo) is only an hour and a half away! Anytime we’re in the mood for better food offerings or city vibes, we like to head up there on weekends.

But back to tutoring:

I’ve worked with hundreds of students over the years, and I understand that every learner has their own unique style and perspective. My goal is to create a supportive and engaging environment where each student can feel confident and empowered. Through smart, integrated Step 2 tutoring, the goal of this site is to help you crush the new version of the exam, but I’m available to tutor middle/high school STEM courses, SAT, ACT, pre-medical courses, MCAT, USMLE, or medical school shelf exams. I also offer reviews of personal statements and applications for medical school or MD/PhD programs, as well as medical school interview prep. I’d love to help you out!
